What really dificult/ Complex things are happening in the text? In the book "The absoloutley true diary of a part time Indian" there are many complex things happening. This affects the main character in many ways. In this book many white people believe that people from the rez are immature, agresive and not as smart. The thought that Indians from the rez are different from White people causes people from the rez to actually believe it too. The thought gets stuck in there minds causing anger and kills all hope for Indians to be something better and acomplish new things. As in for onne of the teachers of the school still has hope and finds it in the main character but he's unsure if he should go ahead and go study in white peoples school wich takes education morte seriously because the rez will think of the main character as atraitor. Although he goes some white people are also surprised but later on accepets him, yet people of the rezervation still see him as traitor and dont want him anymore.

"Faithful Elaphants response

       The passage "Faithful Elephants" by Yukio Tsuchiya is about a man who tells a story about three elephants who once lived in the zoo that he's in but by the Army they where ordered to be killed incase something went on (because of the war) the animals wouldn't go loose. In the passage the setting of where the man who tells this story is symbolic.

     In the beginning of his story he is by a cherry blossom tree where the animals tombstone is. "The cherry blossoms are in full bloom... Their petals are falling in soft breeze sand sparkling in the sun". This means that as the begging of the story there is life(in elephants and in cherry blossoms)

and is very peaceful. As they fall probably represents how the war is taking place. The sun  represents life because the sun is scars for most living things. 

     In the end  of the passage  it says "he was still Patting the tombstone tenderly as the cheery blossoms fell on the grave like snow flakes. " This means that the petals fave already fallen with represents the end of the story. They also compare the cherry blossoms to snowflakes and snow flakes comes from winter that represents death because in winter the plants and trees are dead in wish compares to the elephants death. 

     In conclusion the cherry blossoms symbolize the setting of the passage "Faithful Elaphants". In the end and the begging the cherry blossom represents the setting in the mans story.
